China recalls highest officer of China’s state media group in the U.S.

China recalls its highest officer and other employees who work in the U.S. branch of China Global Television Network (CGTV). The CGTV is a channel owned by China Central Television, which is a State television broadcaster of China.

The reason for the recall is unexplained by China, however, it could be a move affected by the U.S. government under the Foreign Agents Registration Act. Since Trump in the office, America has ordered numbers of media groups to register as “foreign agent” including Russian Today and others. China’s CCTV and Xinhua News Agency are also be included.

America has increasingly aware of the national security threated by China from every corner. Talking about the unfair trade deal between China and the U.S., America allows China to open media company in the United States, however, China does not allow any foreign country to open media in China.

When it comes to media freedom, the Chinese Communist Party would not let it go. The two things China government rely on for their autocracy are guns and media. China communist party will firmly vow their media to loyal the party and that could be a conflict with the Foreign Agents Registration Act from the U.S.A.
